Electric Eel Shock live shows have become the stuff of legend and it is huge credit to Grammy-nominated Dutch producer Attie Bauw (Judas Priest, Scorpions), that EES are able to get the incendiary energy down on record. ‘Big Mistake’ with its groove rock riff and hot fudge bass has a hook big enough to catch a whale on before exploding into superbad power metal with a solo to die for. Elsewhere on the album, ‘Dice De Try’ is a bombastic little ditty, ‘Joe’ is a call and return with following track ‘Joe II’ and ‘Transamerica Ultra Rock’ is an infectious slice of unashamed stadium rock. Point of interest, the whistle on ‘Transamerica Ultra Rock’ is the first whistle Attie has recorded since the infamous Scorpions’ intro to Wind of Change! The album closes with possibly one of the greatest covers of all time. Featuring the vocals of Jollen Grunberg, from Dutch band Furistic.

In the run up to Transworld Ultra Rock the band spent quite some time revisiting earlier EES releases, lifting the best elements from each: from the largely improvised recordings on Slayers Bay Blues, via the catchy songs on the various Go Albums, to the big tight rock sound of Beat Me.
